Quantitative methods II: Big theory

In this second report on quantitative methods, I consider the foundational triumvirate that underpins sub-discipline: data, and theory. argue that, although ‘big data’ and, more recently, code’ may have captured limelight, theory is invaluable should not be disregarded.
